【摘要】:Theattributeofclarityofasheet,measuredbyitsabilitytotransmitimage-forminglight,correlateswithitsregulartransmittance.Sensitivitytodifferencesimproveswithdecreasingincidentbeam-andreceptor-angle.Iftheangularwidthoftheincidentbeamandofthereceptoraperture(asseenfromthespecimenposition)areoftheorderof0.1x00B0;orless,sheetingofcommercialinteresthavearangeoftransparencyofabout10to90%asmeasuredbythistest.Resultsobtainedbytheuseofthistestmethodaregreatlyinfluencedbythedesignparametersoftheinstruments;forexample,theresolutionislargelydeterminedbytheangularwidthofthereceptoraperture.Cautionshouldthereforebeexercisedincomparingresultsobtainedfromdifferentinstruments,especiallyforsampleswithlowregulartransmittance.Regulartransmittancedatainaccordancewiththistestmethodcorrelatewiththepropertycommonlyknownasx201C;see-through,x201D;whichisratedsubjectivelybytheeffectofahand-heldspecimenonanobserver''sabilitytodistinguishclearlyarelativelydistanttarget.Thiscorrelationispoorforhighlydiffusingmaterialsbecauseofinterferenceofscatteredlightinthevisualtest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthetransparencyofplasticsheetingintermsofregulartransmittance(Tr).Althoughgenerallyapplicabletoanytranslucentortransparentmaterial,itisprincipallyintendedforusewithnominallyclearandcolorlessthinsheeting.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.Note28212;Foradditionalinformation,seeTerminologyE284andPracticeE1164.
